Nonexempt (Hourly - Eligible for overtime)
To perform all required procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory and to operate all specialized equipment. To assist physician with all invasive tests and procedures by preparing equipment and patient for exams, monitor vital signs and electrocardiograph data. To oversee procedures when needed and help with the orientation and training of new personnel.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLS
Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements.
Helps train new staff personnel.
Maintains catheterization laboratory equipment in proper working condition. Reports malfunctions and necessary repairs to supervisory personnel.
Maintains proper records of procedure.
Maintains stock inventory and initiates orders.
Manipulates computer images for optimal quality and information.
Performs various clerical duties as needed.
Verifies information and procedures performed using computer system.
Graduate from an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) approved radiology technology program and one (1) year of related experience OR HS Diploma or GED if currently registered as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) and/or Emergency Medical Technician by the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) Office of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Trauma.
If RCIS or EMT, one (1) year of work related experience including but not limited to the operation of high dose x-ray equipment required.
Work experience may NOT substitute for minimum education requirement.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS / REGISTRATIONS
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required
Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) approved radiology technology program required. Must be registered within one (1) year if registry eligible OR
Currently registered as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) and/or currently licensed as an Emergency Medical Technician by the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) Office of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Trauma required.
